Durban has quite a unique range of awesome café’s. From arty, quirky, modern to a café in a coffee factory, we have it all. Here is the list of our favourites:

1. Freedom Café – 40 St Mary’s Avenue, Morningside

That cute, quirky container has become home to one of the most trendiest spots in Durban. We love their buttermilk pancake stack if you want something sweet. If you are in the mood for something savoury try their pulled pork bun.

2. Bellevue Café – Corner Bellevue Road and St Mary’s Road, Kloof

We love the arty, modern and spacious feel about this café. They have a daily selction of the most divine cake, muffins and pastries. You must try their Welsh rarebit on Ciabatta with bacon.

3. Factory Café – 369 Gale Street (Magwaza Maphalala), Umbilo

There is something about this café being set in an old factory, that makes it a really awesome place for coffee. It’s also, home to the famous Colombo Coffee and the smell of delicious coffee wafting through those high open spaces is heavenly!

4. Corner Café – 197 Brand Road, Glenwood

This arty, corner café is one of the best kept secrets in Durban. Their freshly baked pies and pastries are a must. If you a ravenous, then their Triple decker “Biggest Bacon Love Sarmie” is a must try.

5. Vovo Telo – Chartwell Drive, Umhlanga

You could swear you are at a French street side café when you are here. We love the smell of their freshly baked goods being sold on the pavement. Their Bistro beef burger is one of our favourites.
