Music At The Lake

The Old Mutual Music at the Lake series presents Matthew Mole at the Durban Botanic Garden today. The Music At The Lake series is an initiative to create funds for a programme called the Garden Window Project,   an innovative people and plant development programme.

Today’s concert starts at 3pm and features Cape Town Folk favorite Matthew Mole, Hot Water and Monark. So weather permitting, grab some goodies and enjoy the live music and beautiful ambiance.

Rivertown Beerhall’s Urban Picnic

After the great success of last week’s urban picnic, the Rivertown Beerhall Urban Picnic, there will be another one on today. There is a great line up of entertainment which kicks off at 12pm.
The lineup is :DJ Dumi and Renuld 5 from 12am followed by Ethiopian Poet Sleshe Damessae who is here for Poetry Africa. Bringing in a totally different and unusual flavor, those attending will be able to enjoy him playing Ethiopian Music on Krar (Ethiopian Harp) with Vocals.

Like last week’s picnic, patrons can either purchase food from The Morning Trade on 8 Morrison Street and take it over or purchase food and drinks from the venue. Food purchased from other places except The Morning Trade will not be permitted at the venue.

 

The Durban Diwali Festival

Today will be the last day of the annual Diwali festival, hosted at the old Drive-In grounds. Indulge in some freshly prepared Indian food, served at their pop-up restaurant catered by Indian Delights or treat yourself to some shopping from the vendors. There is kiddies entertainment with an amusement park park and fun rides.

Pink High Tea

For those wishing to enjoy some indoor entertainment, the Pink High Tea at the Palm Court at the Oyster Box will be served in the afternoon. In October, the high tea is themed pink in order to raise awareness of breast cancer. R10 from every person attending the high tea will be donated to CANSA.
