A World First in Umhlanga – Free uncapped Wifi!
Surf while you surf has a whole new meaning as Umhlanga Tourism launches free wifi on their blue flag beach.
No more huge data costs if you decide to head down to the Umhlanga Main Beach. This is great news not only for tourists but locals too. Beach goers to Umhlanga’s main beach will access to free uncapped wifi!!
“We are very excited about being able to offer free, uncapped wifi to people on the Umhlanga Main Beach”, said Peter Rose, head of Umhlanga Tourism.
“We have checked with other blue flag status beaches, and as far as we know, there is no other Blue Flag Beach in the world that offers free uncapped wifi”, said Rose.
This years Umhlanga Summer Festival in partnership with Just Juice is in it’s10th year and it proving to be quite a bumper Festive season.”Our 2 day surfing competition which was held over the weekend received a record number of over 40 entries!” said Rose.
The Umhlanga Summer Festival which runs from the 13 – 23 December is 11 days of Fun, activities and now free wifi!
Daily activities will have beachgoers basking in the summer sun whilst families will be entertained with a variety of fun and games on the stage and beach, daily from 10am until 2pm with talent competitions, kiddies sing-alongs and game.
All these activities will be taking place on uMhlanga Main Beach and on the Millennium Beach Stage. There are a host of daily fun activities for the whole family ensuring fun in the sun throughout the festival.
If you are on the beach today, check out the Umhlanga Beauty Pageant on the Main Beach Stage. The next time you are there look out for the two huge aerials on the Main Beach, that is what is bringing the free wi-fi to you. So, you can now lay on the beach and surf the waves or surf the net for free!
