We love the vibe and festivities of a night market, and it seems that there are new ones popping up on the Durban scene too!
Here are 3 awesome night markets happening tonight:
1. Litchi Orchard Night Market, Umhlali
The night market at the Litchi Orchard overall is an awesome experience! Tonight you can listen to the music of James Freedom and John Ellis.
The formula is simple: Top class food & drink, handmade art & craft, the outdoors, lots of space, fantastic live music – something for everyone! You can spend time with friends and family in their treasured old litchi orchard, whilst supporting the traders and fostering the local community.
The Night Market is now held monthly on the last Friday each month. Each is an event in it’s own right and should be a firm fixture for those looking for a strong dose of excellent local food, drink, live music and festivities!
The night market is divided into 2 distinct sections: Our Food Market & our ‘Art’ Market.
In the Food Market section there is a strong focus on food products which are locally and sustainably produced, seasonal and farm-fresh.
The Art section brings a creative and fun dimension to the overall market, with a selection of top-quality furniture pieces, antiques, fine art, photography, pottery, stoneware, graphic design, jewellery and wood carvings.
Where: The Litchi Orchard, Seaforth Dr, Umhlali
Time: 5 – 10 pm
2. Night Market at Granada Square, Umhlanga
Welcome to Umhlanga’s first night market, Market at the Square! Run by the The Market Co. , this market that showcases some of KZN’s very own homegrown talents.
The Market Co. team wanted to do something different in Durban by creating a unique and exclusive market such as this, a space where people can spend their leisure time once a month on a Friday evening. Market at the Square will be located within the blend of retail, residential and restaurant space within Granada Square centre in Umhlanga. Tonight you will be entertained by Phil Moffett, Campbell College ,The Mirrors and The Trouble.
You will find an arty Durban design atmosphere within an urban landscape. Think open-air, festival lights, artisan wares, delicious specialised food, and live entertainment, a stellar setting for market-goers to meander through. Essentially, this is Umhlanga’s trendiest new gathering – an event not to be missed!

3. The Bellevue Night Market
We are pretty excited about the night market at Bellevue Cafe tonight.
There’s an arty feel to Bellevue Café, a modern, spacious and contemporary cafe that’s consistently lively and a favourite with families and celebratory parties.
This is their first night market and patrons are promised Artisanal Food and Crafts.
The cafe is a large-volume space is broken into areas by screens and, curiously, trees that grow from inside the room out for an organic feel, while a blackboard lists wine specials and there are shelves of good beer. There is great al fresco seating too.
The night market will be held in the square at the Bellevue Cafe Campus.

Time: 4 – 8p.m
