Durban Will Be Showing Off Just How Vibrant The City Is With Everything From Colour To Food This Morning. Check Out What You Can Get Up To This Saturday.
The Colour Run
The Color Run is a five-kilometer, un-timed race in which thousands of participants are doused from head to toe in different colors at each kilometer.
The fun continues after Color Runners complete the race with an unforgettable Finish Festival. This larger than life party is equipped with music, dancing and massive color throws, which create millions of vivid color combinations. Trust us, this is the best post-5k party on the planet!
It’s a unique paint race that celebrates healthiness, happiness and individuality.
The event kicks off at SunKist Lawns. Color Runners get ready in the start shute at 8am, start gun goes off at 9am to start the happiest 5km in the Durbs. Each batch starts 3 minutes apart and you’ll head off in each batch with approximately 500 new friends. It takes 1-2 hours to run or walk the route and then into the festival zone where you will enjoy music from Deon Govender, DJ Sir, East Coast Radio,local acts, best-dressed competitions, food and drink and you guessed it, more color!

If that is an ideal way of spending a Saturday morning for you, then make sure that you make your way over to the Food Market. at the Hellenic Community Centre this morning. Find everything from farm fresh food stalls, organic produce, recipe books, harvest tables, kiddies corner, mini flower market, tea garden and basically, all things FOOD!
The Food Market team aims to highlight and uncover the many hidden jewels within the food industry to the people of Durban and all who visit us – showcasing the skills, variety and selection of produce/food and products that are being produced and exist right here on our door step.
The market opens at 8am and entrance is free. The Hellenic Centre can be found at 6 High Grove Road, Umgeni Park, Durban North.

The long time favorite activity of many Durbanites, Essenwood’s Craft Market will be taking place today from 9am until 2pm. A variety of lovely stands to shop at, and a great many food stands to indulge in, the Essenwood Craft Market is the perfect Saturday morning outing.
