If you have ever walked along the beautiful uMhlanga Beach Promenade, you will have to agree that it is one of the most picturesque and amazing beach walks. It is also home to the famous Umhlanga “Whale” Pier, which was named the “most beautiful Pier in the world” by CNN.

So we were very excited to hear about the coffee kiosk that opened up on the promenade yesterday.

We discovered through the uMhlanga Urban Improvement Precinct (UIP) that Jacksonville Coffee and uMhlanga Rocks Surf Lifesaving Club have collaborated. This amazing initiative will see Jacksonville providing a service offering to the Club members e.g Coffee, smoothies etc, that will expand as the relationship grows), with the club benefiting from a much needed revenue sharing arrangement.

Patrons will be able to buy delicious coffees, cappucinos, lattes, espressos, smoothies and teas. We also noticed that there were decadent chocolate brownies for sale this morning.  When we chatted to the barista on duty this morning, he mentioned that they will be offering muffins and other eats soon.

For the viability of this arrangement, Jacksonville will also be trading to the public via a coffee hatch that opens onto the Promenade. This exciting offering will operate 7 days a week with initial winter operating hours between 6:30 and 2pm weather dependent.

“This is a “pour and support collaboration” which really will help the Lifesaving Club financially and by serving its’ members,” said club chairman Scott Sowman.

So, please support them the next time you are on the uMhlanga Promenade and let us know what you think of their coffee!
