Minitown is a mini city in Durban. It is one of Durban's iconic beach front tourist attractions. It is a replica of Durban. It was established thirty years ago and is situated on Durban's Golden Mile. The buildings in Minitown are scaled down to 1:24 of their size. The buildings reach just above knee height and provide you with a perspective that would never be appreciated when walking through the city. It almost looks like a little toy land, as the miniature trains and planes move around the kids will be amazed and excited. There is even a miniature harbor with ships, as well as an airport.

The first model was completed in 1963, Minitown is a miniature city with replicas of some of Durban's well-known buildings and all the models were made in Minitown itself. It’s amazing to see all the tiny details and effort that was put in to collaborating Minitown.

Minitown is a major fund raising tool for the Quadriplegic Association of KwaZulu-Natal. It almost looks like a little toy land, as the miniature trains and planes move around the kids will be amazed and excited. There is even a miniature harbor with ships, as well as an airport.

Minitown is for the young at heart, and makes an excellent family outing. It is a good way to spend some quality time with you little ones as both you and your children will be amazed at this city within a city.
