Mistrys Pine Furniture KZN was established in 1975 as a retailer of quality pine furniture. Quality pine manufacturers could not be found in Durban KZN so in 1978 the Vallabh brothers started manufacturing certain lines,as demand increased for quality pine furniture in Durban KZN, yet suppliers could not be found.

The manufacturing arm of Mistrys KZN was set up and as the plant grew,the premises moved from the back garage of the owner’s home to a factory / showroom in Gale Street.In the early 90’s the Gale Street premises was outgrown and the plant was moved to its current location at 14 Vulcan Place, Phoenix Industrial Park, a 6000m2 area.Up to 70% of our range is manufactured locally. Our factory also includes its own finishing plant & this offers clients the service of staining our pine furniture to a number of different colours.

Mistrys primary market is the supply of quality pine furnisher. Evolving over the years we have established a division concentrating on built in cupboards and other lines in chipboard and mdf. Mistrys caters for furniture for all the rooms in a home,and our ranges can be summarised below:

1) Bedroom : Pine beds,bunk beds,headboards,wardrobes,dressing tables,pedestals,mirrors and base and mattress sets.

2) Kiddies Furniture : Pine cots,compactums,toy boxes etc.

3) Study / Office: Range of well-priced imported office furniture,pine office desks, pine childrens desks and bookcases.

4) Dining room furniture: Dining sets,pine dining tables and chairs & benches,servers and sideboards.

5) Entertainment and Lounge : Pine bars and bar stools, coffee tables, TV units, plasma units, entertainment units, room dividers, display bookcases, CD and DVD storage units.

6) Kitchen: Pine kitchen furniture range – with tops or without.

7) Garden Furniture: We stock a small range of garden furniture, ranging from saligna timber to imported hardwoods.

Ranges are mixed between classical and modern and the type of finish you choose for your unit will establish the mood you require for the particular room in your home. We stain our pine units in up to 10 different colours. Ambitiously we will be expanding in KZN, nationally and internationally. A number of our lines that are manufactured in our KZN factory are also supplied to Mistrys JHB. Through our manufacturing arm Pinetique (Pty) Ltd. will be well poised to enter the export market and make a lasting impression.

Mistry’s KZN has four stores, namely its flagship store in Umgeni Business Park, Springfield, another in the Millennium Home Centre in Umhlanga, and smaller satellite stores in the Ballito and Richards Bay.Keep a look out for future stores opening in the future. Mistrys has taken the bold step of opening a showroom in Cape Town. On doing some background work Mistrys found that there was a demand in Cape Town for Quality Pine Furniture. Mistrys launches its very first Cape Town Store on the 29th June 2012, in the Northgate Estate in Cape Town.
