Do you think you have what it takes to show off your Musical Talent and Become a Superstar?

Well if you do, King Shaka International Airport in Durban is giving local musicians an opportunity to show case their talents.
The Airport Busker Program is being expanded since its preliminary launch last year. This exciting program intends to create a festive atmosphere just in time for the 3000 delegates who are expected to arrive in Durban for the World Routes Conference. Africa has the pleasure of hosting the World Routes Conference for the first time and it is going be held at the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Durban from the 19 to 22 September 2015.
Not only will airport visitors be entertained by local homegrown talent whilst they wait or pass through the airport, but they can also try their hand at playing one of the two pianos within the airport. The majestic grand pianos have been placed at the domestic arrivals general area and the domestic departure area, respectively.
We are proud to say that this feature is the first of its kind at any South African airport and we are sure that it will become a talking point for many. Children, business passengers, staff and even policemen are taking advantage of this opportunity. The Airport Busker Program has named this experience, “Play Me.”

Local Musicians Showing off their Talent at the Airport

This program is a partnership between Durban’s King Shaka International Airport and iSupport, who supports and recognizes local artists in KwaZulu Natal.
The Busker Program exposes singers and musicians to a wide audience and allows them to collect tips. So make sure that the next time that you are at King Shaka International Airport, you take the opportunity to support this incredible local initative.
Keeping with the tourism theme, a Busker Festival will be held from 24 September 2015. The festival will feature local musicians, the I Heart Market, food tasting and various culinary demonstrations.
