Kick off your weekend on a mind boggling and hilarious note at The Next Comedy Generation show on 12 and 13 October which will feature an award winning magician and mentalist as well as a host of fresh comedy talent!

Conceptulised by Durban comedian Carvin H Goldstone, to help unearth local talent in the entertainment industry, The Next Comedy Generation show has been running for two years and helped groom over 30 new comedians across KZN.

This weekend a number of highlights have been lined up to take the stage at the Durban Country Club, including Brendon Peel, one of South Africa’s rising entertainment stars and magician/mentalist extraordinaire. Peel has performed at every Grahamstown National Arts Festival since 2011 with solo hit shows such as Think Twice, Magic Through the Ages, and Mind Over Magic. He has also performed other theatre festivals across the country. In 2017, the Port Elizabeth-based artist won the South African Theatre Magazine “Performer of the Year” award.

Finalist at this year’s Comics Choice Awards, Kwanda Ntando Radebe will be repping Durban on stage. Described by The Sunday Times as an artist who is “leading a new generation of born-free comedians”, Radebe was crowned Durban Young Guns Comedy Showdown winner (2015) and is a hit wherever he takes the funny.

Leah Jasmine – a.k.a the queen of the Durban comedy underground – is a contemporary comedian who makes people laugh all over the country. She’s a motivating and hilarious entity who is surely not to be missed.

Straight from the Mother City Keenan Cerff is chilled and loveable.Cerrf rides into Durban on the wave of success from his appearance on Trevor Noah’s Nation Wild. He us a quirky comedian straight out of Lavender Hill in Cape Town who has performed comedy since 2014 across the country.

Another great new act in South Africa, and also a recent graduate of the Trevor Noah school of Nation Wild, Bongani Dube is best described as unpredictably funny! Dube a.k.a “Mr Tickles” is likely to sweep you off your feet with laughs that you never saw coming!

With loads more comedy and entertainment on the cards at The Next Comedy Generation show this weekend, you surely want to be there.
