The uMhlanga Village is about to receive new sidewalk paving and the UIP would like to express a big thank you to the Municipality for responding positively to the call made by the improvement precinct.
The poor state of the paving is a big safety risk to pedestrians and no amount of high pressure washing is able to clean the paving.
The new paving will be the same quality clay brick specification as the promenade and this upgrade will greatly assist in efforts to enhance the attraction of uMhlanga Rocks. Furthermore the upgrade of the paving will link the Village with the new Pearls and Oceans developments with the same stylised pedestrian walkway.
Work has started on the corner of Lighthouse Rd and Chartwell Drive and the whole project should be completed in about 8 months. A letter from the municipality detailing more about the project can be found here.
Key municipal contacts for this project include:
• Community Liaison Officer: Simon Zulu 073 911 8752
• Municipal Engineer: Pam Moodley 073 410 9240
This project will add so much value to the experience of uMhlanga Rock and the UIP asks for patience while work is being done.
